For me holding a book always felt magical, there not any thing that could make me more happier than buying a new book, feeling its weight and smelling its pages, even the sound of flipping the pages for the first time, always was something for me.
Nowadays, digital reading has its own kind of power, you can carry like a library of books, in only your pocket, highlight without ruining the page, even search instantly, maybe you want to change the font, adjust it. It’s convenience as its peak.
So which one is better? For me, paper gives me what I need, focus, and nostalgia, while digital gives you speed and access. But there no way digital could give me the same feelings that paper gives me. Even if digital could be more helpful, when reading a textbook, or articles, research.
In the end, it’s not really a battle, it’s more like having two doors into the same universe. One is made of ink and wood, and the other of pixels and glass. Both take you somewhere new, both has its own advantages and disadvantages, and both has there own fans.
But for me, I’m totally a paper fan-boy, so next time when trying to search for a gift for me, just buy me a book.
