After a weird discussion in my class, talking mainly about how the fuck does my brain works, they proposed a challenge, to describe love in the most weird ways. I sat for 10 min then I collected all my thoughts and here I am writing this. I’m writing this in English not as usual in Arabic cause it is more easily for me to write scientific words.

Shall we start? I mean you clicked it so you are curious.

1. Math

When I thought about it, I think math won’t describe love as just a number, but rather a relationship between variables. The begin as two independent functions, then gradually begin to share behavior. Their graphs intersect, then separate, and most of time they stay converged. They never become identical but rather keep reaching each other. Like how a limit behaves.

2. Physics

When I thought about weird ways to describe love, the first thing that came to my mind was describing love through physics. I remember this hilarious meme about newton, he said that he likes fatty and curvy girls, but then someone said No newton that won’t work. So he said okay then, more mass more attraction.

But let’s talk real for a while, for me describing love through physics, could be done through the behavior of two bodies moving through space, the have separate paths, but sooner or later they begin to influence each other’s motion. Their directions bend, and sometimes enter a stable orbit.

3. Chemistry

I hate chemistry, like a lot, but the way it could describe love is so warming. It could describe love as the formation of bonds, the formation of new structure that could never be there. Some reactions are unstable and collapse quickly, while others form strong bonds that require huge energy to break. And some reach balance, where both elements exist together in a configuration neither could maintain alone.

But I still hate chemistry btw.

4. Astronomy

Astronomy would describe love through orbits. Massive objects change the space around them, bending paths and capturing any wandering bodies into their gravitational field. And once captured, motion becomes predictable.

Or even like describing the sun, it burns for you, to live, that’s love form my opinion even if it appears toxic, but burning for someone is something very warm.

5. Astrophysics

Astrophysics take it more step serious, it describes love through how an entire system forms from just chaos. Love here could be seen as the gradual organization of two complex systems into something larger and more beautiful so that now neither of them is alone anymore.

7. Programming

Programming, the kind of thing that I love to do, describes love as a software, requires constant revisions, bug fixes, and lots of patches written. The code becomes more stable through repeated debugging. The system is perfect not because it was at the start, but because it kept being rewritten again and again.

8. AI

AI frames love as a system always learning patterns from interactions. Over time the model improves its answer, it becomes more understandable you can’t even let go.

9. Control Systems

Related to our capstone this semester, and what started all this hustle, control systems describes love positive feedback loops, all the time improving.

10. Probability

It describes love through the small unlikely outcome emerging from many random encounters, and somehow this outcome is the best fit for you.

11. Chess

Moreover, chess might describe love as that long very strategic game that is always interesting with every single move.

12. Physcology

Phycology would describe love as addiction, addiction of something you can’t leave, even if you did you come back again. Like you are an alcoholic substance that no one could resist

The End

I think this is all, to all my peers I have won the challenge didn’t I? Yours, truly Ziad Hossam.
